Global Partners Fighting Online Child Sexual Abuse
Meet in Ottawa

Ottawa, OntarioJuly 7, 2006 – The members of the Virtual Global Taskforce (VGT) will be meeting at RCMP Headquarters in Ottawa July 11-13 to discuss global initiatives to combat Internet facilitated child sexual exploitation.

The VGT is an international alliance of law enforcement agencies including the National Crime Squad in the U.K., the High Tech Crime Centre in Australia, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, the United States Department of Homeland Security and Interpol.

VGT members have met in Australia, Ireland and the United Kingdom. This will be the first meeting held on Canadian soil.

Media will have the opportunity to interview Virtual Global Taskforce partners during a specified time only. Representatives from each agency will be present.

Interviews:     Between 9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. on July 13
